It’s not an official jersey retirement, but it certainly sounds like one.
Golden State Warriors CEO Joe Lacob baffled the basketball world when he announced that as long as he’s in his position, no player will wear #35 for the team. Durant was certainly an important part of the Warriors latest two championship runs, he was only on the team for three seasons – and even in that time it was full of controversy and drama to do with “ruining the NBA” as many fans would call it.
Nonetheless, #35 shall not be worn in Oracle for the time being unless it is from an opponent… which includes Durant…
