One of the most popular sports-comedy blends over the years is Scott Sterling’s volleyball blocks, but when it’s real it seems much less fun.
This volleyball player out of Fishers Illinois was knocked off her feet by a spike in this volleyball game. It comes off of a monster left hand from the opposing team that this girl was nowhere near ready for. This happens in almost every ball sport at some point – you see it a lot in soccer and basketball, but it always looks a little more dramatic in volleyball for some reason.
While we often give Scott Sterling the credit for these kinds of plays, we should keep in mind that the true originator of the volleyball to the face was Meet the Parents.
At least there was no blood in this scenario.
