Teams across the NHL are hosting their annual Hockey Fights Cancer nights throughout the month of November and they’re not the only league showing support for the brave people who fight the battle with cancer on the daily or have dealt with it in the past.
In the USHL, the Sioux Falls Stampede hosted the Fargo Force on Saturday night and they went all in for the special night by making a major change to their ice surface.
The Stampede had the entire ice surface painted pink for their annual Pink in the Rink Night and took to the ice in incredible jerseys to match.
While the pink ice and matching pink jerseys is a great way to show support for those going through treatments and fighting cancer, the greatest part of the entire night came before puck drop when the franchise honoured 24 women who have battled or are battling breast cancer.
Teams have done similar things in the past from painting their ice pink to wearing pink jerseys, but we’ll never get tired of any of it, especially when it’s all for a good cause.
