Team Canada’s women’s hockey team and Team USA’s women’s hockey team know each other very well, especially when it comes to the Winter Olympic Games.
The two teams will meet once again on Thursday afternoon in PyeongChang with the gold medal on the line, and it’ll be the fifth time the two nations will be playing for gold since women’s hockey made its debut at the 1998 Winter Games.
The two teams met earlier in the tournament in the group stage, which Canada won 2-1, so the Americans are hoping to get the Canadians back in the most important game of the tournament.
Looking to give their squad a little extra motivation, the U.S. women’s national soccer team sent the team a positive message ahead of the big game.
The two teams combined for 20 goals for and five against in the preliminary round, so the gold medal good is shaping up to be a good one.
