The Grand Rapids Griffins are on the verge of winning the Calder Cup and their opponents, the Syracuse Crunch, are starting to feel the heat.

The Griffins pulled through with a huge Game 4 3-2 road win to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Both teams struggled to contain their emotions following the nail-biter, and proceeded to pound on each other following the final horn.

As you just witnessed, gloves and sticks were pretty much everywhere. Even 5’8 forward Cory Conacher, who led Syracuse in points during the regular season got in on the action.

It’s tough to blame the Crunch for letting their anger get the best of them. Of the four games played in the series so far, all three of Syracuse’s losses have been decided by a single goal. Their lone win was the only game won by more than one tally.

The Griffins will have a chance to close out the series in Game 5, which will be played in Syracuse on Saturday night.
