You have to be a very certain kind of person to step into a boxing ring in front of thousands of screaming fans, slip on some boxing gloves, and go toe-to-toe with a fellow punching machine.
Tyson Fury certainly fits the bill.
The brawling Irish/Englishman was one half of what was easily one of the most highly-anticipated boxing events in recent years. Taking on Deontay Wilder, the two were trying to settle a score that originally ended in a draw after their first fight. The draw was the only non-victory in either fighter’s career.
Now Fury is the only one that can say he is without a loss, as he defeated Wilder by TKO in the 7th round on Saturday. One moment that everyone is talking about is during the 6th round when Fury appeared to lick Wilder’s neck. In other words, tasting his blood.
We can’t really tell if his tongue made contact with the blood, but it was AWFULLY close if not. Ahead of the fight, Fury mentioned that he wanted to taste blood. Don’t think anyone thought he was being quite so literal.
The internet responded accordingly.
Note to self: Don’t get on Tyson Fury’s bad side.
