The sports world rarely takes a day off. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, for example, there were football games and basketball games.
New Year's Eve is another day that athletes don't always get to enjoy because they could be playing. Sunday night, a number of hockey teams were in action on the last day of 2017, including the Winnipeg Jets.
The Jets ended 2017 on a high note as they crushed the Oilers 5-0 and they rang in the New Year high in the sky as a team.
The Jets celebrated together on their flight to Colorado as they take on the Avalanche Tuesday night.
Jets players weren't the only ones that celebrated on New Year's Eve, though. Here are some other NHLers that enjoyed the last day of 2017 and the first day of 2018.
Sports also don't take a break on New Year's Day as there are a number of College Football games Monday and there's the Winter Classic between the Sabres and Rangers, so kick back, relax and ring in 2018 the right way.
