Over the past two seasons, the Winnipeg Jets have made a serious effort to create meaningful relationships with Canada’s Indigenous Peoples.

They’ve hosted theme nights, worked with communities to design custom jerseys, and the first ever time the national anthem was sung in Ojibwe was at a Jets game.

Although there’s no hockey happening right now, the Jets are still celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day on june 21st, starting by changing their profile picture to their logo that incorporates  symbols from Cree, Dene, Dakota, Ojibwe, and Oji-cree cultures.

Good on the Jets for acknowledging the importance and hardships of Indigenous people in Canadian history!
