For almost ten years, the Washington Huskies have had arguably one of the best mascots in all amateur and professional sports. After all, he’s a real good boy.
Dubs, the 10-year-old husky that is the Huskies second official mascot, released a statement through his very own Twitter account that he’ll be stepping down after almost ten years on the job.
As Dubs mentioned above, he’s “excited to spend more time with my family, frolicking in the fields of my very own backyard.”
No word on who will exactly be replacing Dubs, but they’ll have some pretty big shoes to fill.
With Seattle potentially getting a NHL franchise sooner rather than later, maybe Dubs could pick up the game of hockey with all his free time?
