Who woulda thought.

The NHL announced a new event,  the NHL Outdoor weekend, and oh my goodness the crowd went wild - on social media. The league announced that they'd be playing at a rink most of us only thought we'd see in our dreams, the most picturesque Lake Tahoe.

The Vegas Golden Knights were scheduled to take on the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, followed by a Sunday game between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers.

Everything about this setup was legitimately perfect. Except maybe too perfect. The lake was glistening, the views were incredible and there wasn't a cloud in the sky -  as science would tell us, this is a particularly bad combination as the sun was absolutely torturing the rink.

The game was just finishing up the 1st period and the ice conditions were terrible so on that premise, the league decided they would postpone the game to resume play at midnight and fans had all the jokes.
