One of the Simpsons most famous episodes of all time is “Homer at the Bat”, where nine different MLB players guest starred in the episode to play for Mr. Burns’ softball team.

It is one of the most popular episodes of all time and what might shock many people who love that episode, is that it’s about to turn 25 years old. The Simpson’s have been running for what feels like but this is something totally new. With the help of the actual baseball players that appeared in the episode, Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me, The Greatest Movie Ever Sold) and of course the Simpsons cast, they will do a documentary on that Simpsons’ episode.

Along with the announcement of this documentary, which will air this Sunday, they released a trailer for the special.

The Simpsons have been diving head first into the Sports world over the last little while, as they also included Wayne Gretzky in an episode last season.

He was the first hockey player to actually voice a character in an episode of the Simpson and these athletes will definitely be making a couple firsts as well. We’ll take any excuse to watch a little more of The Simpsons.
