The San Francisco Giants won’t be able to have their fans at games this season, but season-ticket holders can still have their likeness represented in the stands.
While some other sports leagues around the world have opted to replace live fans with mannequins or celebrity cutouts, the Giants are opting for a more personal touch. Their season-ticket holders will be able to send a photo of themselves to be used for a cardboard cutout placed in the stands during games.
There is no substitute for actually being able to go to games, but we suppose times like these call for creative solutions.
Meanwhile, over in the NFL, the New York Giants are just allowing fans to defer their season tickets for a year. Maybe that’s more preferable.
