The New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres are set to square off at Citi Field on New Year’s day for the 11th annual NHL Winter Classic.
There was a great deal of anticipation leading up to the jersey reveals, but both have finally been made public. The Sabres’ went with a similar design to their regular uniforms while the Rangers chose more of an old school look.
Now that both are out, the Sabres asked the question that everyone is wondering; which team’s is nicer? Buffalo’s Twitter account encouraged fans to retweet if they’re in favour of Buffalo’s and ‘like’ if they prefer the Rangers’. To their dismay, New York captured an overwhelming number of the votes. After the results were through, the Rangers made sure to let the Sabres hear about it.
Ouch.
This won’t be the first year either team will be suting up in the big game. Here’s a look at some of the other jerseys they’ve worn in the past.

If we learned anything about the game from HBO’s 24/7 series it’s that players take it quite seriously, and the recent trash talking is only going to add to the fire.
So, are you retweeting or liking?
