Having the opportunity to design a jersey or logo for an NFL franchise is likely the dream job for lots of designers. You may get to choose what a team looks like when they raise the Lombardi Trophy as the triumphant champions. How cool is that?

Of course, the wide exposure does come with a darker side. The moment the jerseys are released to the public, you’re completely open to widespread scrutiny. We’re thinking that may be how some of the Los Angeles Rams designers are feeling right now.

After the Rams’ logo was ripped apart upon release not long ago, the jerseys that followed didn’t fair much better.

So before we dive into the fan response, we’ll show a few positives. The Rams players nearly immediately shared their support for the jerseys, so there’s that.

Fair enough, but let’s not forget that it’s the players talking about THEIR jerseys, with THEIR number, and THEIR names on them. Not saying this damns them as biased, but the Court of Public Opinion is definitely a more accurate judge.

And off we go!

Well, that could have gone better.
