There are a lot of things that can force athletes to miss games.

Players being sidelined as a result of things like injuries, suspensions, and illnesses are all fairly routine, so when Mets’ outfielder Brandon Nimmo was out as a result of a stomach bug for their spring training game against the Marlins, we didn’t think much of it.

Until we found out it was self-inflicted food poisoning.

Obviously, when Twitter got their hands on this unfortunate illness, they had way too much fun with it.

This is a very unfortunate (if not characteristic) happening for the Mets, but we’ll definitely be on the lookout for videos from the proposed cooking classes that the team will be providing him with.
