Today, the basketball world is celebrating Kobe Bryant for 8/24, the date that coincides with his two jersey numbers in the NBA.

With the Los Angeles Lakers in action, you knew that they would find a way to mark the occasion, and they decided to bring back the Black Mamba jerseys co-designed by Kobe Bryant himself in 2016 for Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The jersey, featuring a snakeskin pattern in black, also has a special patch honouring GiGi Bryant with the No. 2 jersey number that she wore.

Kobe would have celebrated his birthday on August 23rd, or the day immediately preceding 8-24, so these last two days have featured all kinds of tributes to Kobe. This is certainly a nice gesture by the team.

It seems like even the box score wanted to find a way to honour Kobe, with a 24-8 score during the first quarter on 8-24.
