It’s been another rough season for the Washington Redskins and their fans and that’s not very surprising considering they’ve only really had two offensive players to rely on all year.

Rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin is just crushing every receiving stat as he leads the team in catches (51), yards (833) and touchdowns (7), while 34-year-old Adrian Peterson has been leading the way on the ground with 784 yards and four touchdowns on 183 attempts.

This past weekend, Washington fell short at home against the Philadelphia Eagles, but it was an historic day for AP as he moved into 5th on the all-time rushing yards list and tied Walter Payton for fourth most rushing touchdowns in NFL history.

Peterson got some extra help on his touchdown run from the rookie wide receiver as he threw a block right outside the end zone and his efforts did not go unnoticed by the 2012 NFL MVP.

On Wednesday, Peterson showed McLaurin some love as he gifted the 24-year-old his touchdown ball from this past weekend with a personal message on it.

Pretty awesome gesture by AP.
