Taylor Hall is in the running for MVP this season and one person he will have to compete with for that honour is former teammate Connor McDavid.

McDavid has started to run away with the NHL point lead and will likely win his second straight Art Ross trophy. He is widely considered to be the more prolific scorer in the National Hockey League, but he will not make the playoffs this season. His former teammate, Hall, will.

For a long time, Hall had hoped to make the playoffs in Edmonton, but that never happened and clearly the organization began to sour on his impact. He was traded to New Jersey, who appeared to be re-building and in their first season without Hall the Oilers made it to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Now, the script has flipped and Hall explained that this season feels extra special because of how he was forced out of Edmonton.

Oilers fans have already had it pretty rough this season, so this just has to be salt in the wound. Many of them wish Hall never left, especially now that the team’s needs seem mainly to need a scoring winger like Hall.
