The Tampa Bay Lightning are already looking like a power house this season, but it seems as though Steven Stamkos isn’t satisfied with just being the best in the league.
Stamkos wants to blow everyone out of water by adding some more all-stars to their roster.
Specifically, he was asked about hoping to sway Mike Green into bringing his talents to Florida and he said he’s trying to sway more than just Green. Stamkos admitted that he had been dropped hints to every single player in the dressing room.
Of course, fans have been running wild with speculation ever since, especially with two names. The first was P.K. Subban, but it doesn’t really have any merit (Subban is under contract with the Preds until 2021-22) – people just enjoyed the fact that they’re childhood friends and couldn’t help but imagine them on the same team again.
The one that has a little more plausibility would be Erik Karlsson, who is a free-agent after next season.
Karlsson was hanging out with Tampa players all weekend, arriving as a pirate with countryman Victor Hedman and playing on the Atlantic squad with four lightning players. He himself even expressed his excitement about playing with the Lightning players, and that’s not including Hedman who ended up being injured for the game.
You know that fans are going to run wild with this one.
