It looks like the Ka’Wine and Dine movement officially has some competition.
After a mural of Kawhi as a Laker popped up on Venice Beach, famous DJ Steve Aoki revealed that he commissioned the mural himself to recruit Kawhi, and that he’s offering Kawhi free pizza for life from his restaurant, Pizzaoki, if he signs with the Lakers.
Well, you had to figure that with Hollywood in their backyard, the Lakers would definitely have all manner of celebrities joining into the recruiting efforts for Kawhi. This is just to be expected, really.
The rumour mill has been swirling like crazy in advance of free agency, and no one knows where Kawhi may go. In classic Raptors fashion, they’ve kept most of their own efforts private, but at least one former Raptor is hoping he stays.
