Steph Curry has been a staple in the Golden State Warriors dynasty since it began. The sharp shooting point guard has worked his way into the category of league’s most impactful players, but he hasn’t done it by himself.
By his side, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have also carved out very nice careers. Add in the additions of Kevin Durant and Demarcus Cousins, and you’ve got a superteam for the ages. Unfortunately for Bay Area fans, they were unable to pull of the Championship – partially because they had no help from the injury gods.
With Cousins still not 100%, KD tried to return from injury, only to end up with a devastating Achilles tear. On top of that, Klay Thompson went down with a torn ACL.
The two injuries likely mean we won’t be seeing to NBA stars next season, and it had Curry feeling all sorts of ways. When reports came out that he punched a wall following the game, it’s being thought that this was a result of finding out about Klay’s injury, another devastating blow.
It may have been anger, but Marc Spears believes it was guilt more than anything. It’s the old saying “why couldn’t it have been me.”
Realistically, if it were Curry, the Warriors would be in a much worse position anyway.
