Another game, another questionable hit by Milan Lucic on Sharks rookie defenceman Mario Ferraro.

Last Tuesday, Lucic laid Ferraro out with a hit from behind at the Saddledome and he was up to the same antics in a 6-2 win in the Shark Tank on Monday. The 31-year-old wasn’t called for a penalty on either play, so sharks grinder Stefan Noesen took matters into his own hands and went after the Flames’ big man. The two were broken up before things got too serious, but Noesen really let his frustration out with some strong words about his opponent after the game.

In his eyes, Lucic should have faced some serious consequences.

His head coach Bob Boughner wasn't as hard on the referees, but admitted they missed a call on the hit.

The following is an excerpt from NBC Sports:

"Yeah, I'd like to see them protect the players in those situations," Boughner said, "when you're going back for pucks and you've got your back turned and there's no hold-up -- we're not allowed to do that, obviously, anymore. You're not allowed to obstruct, so you've got to make sure that you protect guys. I thought it was a bit high, but it's not my call."

Noesen was surprisingly given an extra two on the play. He was also given a game misconduct later for what he described as “laughing at the referee.” Safe to say the calls weren’t in the Sharks’ favour in this one!

The Flames ultimately won 6-2 and to make matters worse… Lucic scored the opening goal. The two teams will square off on March 23 in Calgary in what should be a heated contest from the getgo.
