At the start of last season, who would have thought that the Brooklyn Nets would upstage their neighbours, the New York Knicks, in free agency this summer?  Few people would have, and yet that's exactly what has happened.

Sunday, the Nets reportedly got commitments to contracts from Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, while the Knicks DIDN'T offer KD the max.  Instead, they spent some of their overwhelming amount of cap space on Julius Randle.

Aside from Stephen A. Smith (and fans) ripping the Knicks apart, NBA players also took notice of New York striking out on the top free agents in this class.
And of course, Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie put the cherry on top with his tweets after seeing the signings his team made.
