Kawhi Leonard’s sister didn’t ask for this drama, but here we are!
After the Raptors’ historic Game 6 win to clinch the Finals, Kawhi’s sister, Miesha Slayton, took to Instagram Live to celebrate with Toronto fans. It was all out of good intentions, but somebody in the background could be heard saying, “They know darn well he ain’t gonna be there next year.”
Let’s just say that Raptors fans didn’t take so positively to this.
Slayton was quick to nix any concerns, responding to fans on her private Instagram account. She also replied to a DM inquiry, saying that the speaker as a “Raptors hater” that she had watched the game with.

It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that Kawhi might leave this offseason — that’s what free agency is all about! — but, you know, considering that he’s already led the Raptors to the Finals in his first year, it seems like the team is playing with house money from here on out. It’d be nice if he re-signed, but hey, this moment is already plenty nice!
On a lighter note, though, it’s worth pointing out that Kawhi does have love for the city of Toronto! His Uncle Dennis said as much, speaking to Yahoo Sports.
