Sidney Crosby has had a pretty special career in the NHL and it all started with a passing of the torch from Mario Lemieux.
Lemieux is argued by some to the most skilled player to ever play the game. His health issues kept him out of the greatest of all-time conversations, but he is the only one to put up seasons that rival the numbers of The Great One. Obviously Crosby and Lemieux living under the same roof must have been pretty interesting, but Sid probably didn’t expect to be bombarded with questions about Lemieux in the midst of a run at his third Stanley Cup in a row.
Yesterday we saw a video released in which a TMZ interviewer was asking Crosby how he thought he compared to Super Mario and he pulled off some classy responses. It’s even more impressive when you see some of the other questions which seem both random and awkwardly phrased.
In a second video that is no longer on the TMZ YouTube or website, you can see the rest of the interview.
Crosby and the Penguins will get away from the paparazzi for a couple of days as the Penguins are heading back to Pittsburgh after the first two games of their second-round series against Washington.
They are tied 1-1 with the Caps and will hope to keep their home ice advantage with a couple of wins on home ice. The Pens have obviously had a great deal of success against the Capitals in recent years and every time they have faced the Captials in the last decade, they went on to win the Stanley Cup. Three-time Stanley Cup Champion Phil Kessel has a nice ring to it.
