Scott Darling’s first season with the Carolina Hurricanes was certainly one to forget.

In 43 games, the 29-year-old posted a 13-21-7 record to go along with a 3.18 goals against average and a .888 save percentage as the Hurricanes finished 10th in the Eastern Conference with 83 points.

Looking to have a bounce back season in the second year of his four-year contract, Darling decided to switch up the patterns on his equipment and revealed his new set by recreating Baker Mayfield’s ad for PSD Underwear.

"Excited to continue my partnership with @goaliesonly !Giving away 0 free pads today. @thedailymoose_ not included 😂 give them a follow and shop my collection 🤙🏻 #IV • • Thanks for the inspiration @bakermayfield • • Moose and I could hardly do this with a straight face 😂"

While Mayfield gave away 500 free pairs of the PSD Underwear with his post, Darling made it perfectly clear that he had no giveaways set aside for any of his followers and certainly wasn’t going to part ways with his buddy, Moose.

Wake me up when the real @bakermayfield gets here

With the departure of Cam Ward this offseason, Darling will compete with newly signed Hurricanes goalie Petr Mrazek for the starting job next season and should be excited about the team’s improvement on the blue line.
