There are a ton of talented Canadians taking the field each and every Saturday in the NCAA that have the potential to make it to the next level, whether it be in the NFL or CFL.
Throughout this college football season, we want to highlight as many Canadians as possible and we're starting this week in our first Saturday Sitdown with twin brothers Chase and Sydney Brown of the Illinois Fighting Illini.
Chase Brown is a running back for Illinois and his brother Sydney plays corner. Born in London, the two have grown up with football in their lives, especially considering their father Darren played in the CFL for a few seasons.
Both players have had memorable college football moments in their careers, like Sydney's pick-six against Michigan State in 2019 or Chase's 131-yard outing against Rutgers last season. Both are looking for many more of those moments, too.
Today, Illinois takes on Purdue and a win would snap a 3-game losing streak for the Fighting Illini after they started the season with a victory over Nebraska. Ahead of this matchup, we talked to both brothers about their season thus far, what things they're taking from the last game into this one, how Sydney feels about being a top CFL Draft Prospect, and which brother is better at what. Enjoy!
