Old time hockey fans will say that today’s game is soft. With the age of the enforcer mostly wrapping up (Milan Lucic is scoring goals now, by the way), a focus has been put on skill and speed, but also on player safety.
As a result, you’ll hear a lot of “not what it used to be comments” in terms of the game’s toughness. That attitude certainly got a reinforcement on Thursday when Mark Scheifele explained what led to his 2nd period unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
“You Suck”, ohhhhhhh got ‘em so good!
After hearing about the incident, hockey fans were bringing the sarcasm. It’s safe to say nobody really thought it should have been penalized.
