Robin Lehner is one of the more intimidating goaltenders in the league just because of his size, but things were brought to a new level at Sabres practice.
With the Winter Classic coming up between the Sabres and Rangers, Lehner has yet to reveal his pads for the event (Lundqvist showed his off yesterday) and it appears as though he’s still searching. He thought he’d test out some authentic vintage Sabres gear, and he wore Paul Harrison’s (The initial tweet was incorrect and they have corrected it) 1981-82 goalie mask out on the eye to take some shots.
Lehner later told the Sabres that he would like to wear the mask for warmups in the Winter Classic, which would be amazing. It’s also oddly fitting for his aesthetic, which is basically just being a wild man.
He could be in the next season of True Detective with this combination.
