The wait is over, RJ Barrett is officially drafted to the NBA along with 59 others. The star Canadian guard was taken 3rd overall by the New York Knicks, who are hoping the Canuck can help bring the team back to the promise land from the cellars they’ve been dwelling in for the last, oh, forever.
Barrett seems to be genuinely excited as well, and you could really see it when his eyes lit up for his surprise welcome to Madison Square Garden.
Nothing like a hero’s welcome to get a rookie excited. Not that he needs much help with that…
We’ll see if his hype can transfer onto the court, but for now we’ll just enjoy him getting used to the New York lifestyle.
