The Detroit Red Wings selected Dylan Larkin with the 15th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
During his rookie campaign, Larkin scored 23 goals and added 22 assists for 45 points in 80 games, but his production took a step backwards last year as he only managed 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points in 80 games. This year, the 21-year-old has gotten off to a hot start and seems to have bounced back from his sophomore slump as he already has 23 points in 28 games (4 goals, 19 assists).
Before Larkin got his chance in the USHL, attended the University of Michigan and became a fan favourite in Detroit, the youngster was making hockey-related YouTube videos from ‘The Dungeon’ and was known as ‘D-Boss’.
Next Monday, the Detroit Red Wings will be giving away Dylan Larkin bobbleheads to the first 7,500 fans who attend their home game against the Florida Panthers, only they aren’t going to feature Larkin in his No. 71 Red Wings jersey. Instead, they’re going to be throwing it back to his YouTube days and will be giving away Dylan Larkin ‘D-Boss’ bobbleheads.
The bobblehead will feature Larkin dressed up as D-Boss while sitting on a couch and holding a hockey stick and it’s a pretty hilarious giveaway.
If you’re going to the Red Wings game next Monday you better go early because you don’t want to miss out on this giveaway.
