Andrew Whitworth may look big and scary when he’s all decked out in Los Angeles Rams gear and patrolling his position on the offensive line, but he’s actually one of the best guys in the NFL. He truly cares about people, and wants to use his success in making it to th highest level of football for good rather than for himself.

Last year we saw Whitworth donate 590 bikes and helmets to kids at Grape Street Elementary, and this year he responded to the tragic Thousand Oakes bar shooting, one that left 12 dead and more injured, with an equally generous gesture.

As it turns out, Whitworth was serious. He wasn’t just offering thoughts and prayers, he wanted to offer his entire Week 11 paycheck.

This paycheck works out to be aroud $60,000. With some people undoubtedly going to hop in and say that’s not much by professional athlete standards, just remember that he only gets 16 game checks a year.

Here’s a look at the aforementioned bike drive Whitworth pulled, continuing to prove he’s one of the best characters around.
