Most football fans had their focus on the first weekend of college football when they woke up on Saturday morning but instead they woke up to the news of a trade between the Oakland Raiders and the Chicago Bears involving 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack.
Raiders fans were frustrated with the lack of contract negotiations between the two sides, as they wanted their star player to get the money he deserved, but the team clearly felt a different way now that the 27-year-old is on his way to the Bears. As the rumor turned into truth, Raiders fans took to Twitter to share their feelings about the deal.
While most Raiders fans either shared their thoughts about the trade or slept through the news, Bears fans were pretty ecstatic about the early morning news.
At the end of it all, no one was more shocked than Mackβs now former teammate Bruce Irvin.
Mack was selected fifth overall by the Raiders in the 2014 NFL Draft and went on to record 231 tackles, 40.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, one interception and one touchdown in 64 games with the team.
