Potential 2018 first-overall pick Rasmus Dahlen showcased immense skill at the 2017 World Junior Championship, leading some to wonder whether he might be the NHL's next Erik Karlsson. Today, the 16-year-old pulled off what very well could be the highlight of his entire playing career.
During a game against Skelleftea AIK, the defenceman dangled his way to one of the nicest goals you’ll likely ever see.
If you didn’t know any better, you’d think Dahlen has been playing forward for the majority of his career. The skating, dekes, and wicked release are all reminiscent of Pavel Datsyuk during his glory days.
Continue to keep an eye on this kid over the year, and don’t be surprised if you hear his name called as the first-overall pick in the 2018 draft.
Especially if he continues to pull of plays like his most recent one.
