Phil Mickelson is at a point in his career where he can pretty much do whatever he wants. The longtime golf legend endearingly known as “Lefty” has provided us with countless moments on the course, but unlike some other legends he’s just as entertaining off the course.
We got a Grade A example of that when he joined CBS’s third round coverage of the PGA Championship on Saturday. Wasting absolutely no time in spicing things up a bit, Mickelson got everyone laughing with one of those witty quotes he’s become known for. This one may be his best ever.
Had them in the first half, not going to lie!
Nick Faldo – understandably surprised by the quip – totally bit on Lefty’s set up, asking what the absent 3rd thing Phil’s good at is. After Faldo clarifies that he’s asking because Mickelson said three things, Phil lazily replies “did I?”
It doesn’t take long for the joke to fully settle in as Mickelson sits there daringly with a hint of a smirk brandished across his face.
Never change, Phil. Never change.
