At the age of 30, Phil Kessel is enjoying one of his best seasons in the NHL.

Through 59 games, the two-time Stanley Cup champion has 66 points (tied for the team lead) and he's 17 points away from setting a new career high in points with 23 games to go.

Based on those numbers, Kessel will likely set a career high in points and he'll be in the race for the Art Ross Trophy until the end of the season.  Even though Nikita Kucherov is 10 points clear of him, there are still a ton of games to be played and until it's over, Kessel's still got a shot.

That said, it doesn't seem like he's too interested in winning an Art Ross Trophy at this point.

Phil's got two cups and that's all he needs.

If he and the Penguins keep playing like they are right now (8-1-1 in their last 10), Kessel could be a three-time Stanley Cup champion when this season is all said and done.

Clearly he prioritizes winning hockey's ultimate team prize over individual trophies, but it would be awesome to see him go on a tear catch up to Kucherov to make the scoring race a little more entertaining.
