Dion Phaneuf played in his final game as a member of the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night as the 32-year-old was shipped to the Los Angeles Kings.
Phaneuf joined the Sens during the 2015-16 season and ended up taking over as one of the leaders in the team’s room.
After the game, Phaneuf’s now former teammates didn’t shy away from sharing their reactions to the move on Twitter.
After Phaneuf made the switch into his street clothes, the former first round draft pick did one final scrum with the Ottawa media and went around to personally thank them one by one after it wrapped up.
You can say what you want about Phaneuf’s style of play, but he handles everything like a true professional every single time.
