No matter what happens in the NBA Finals, the biggest impact on any single player’s legacy will always be LeBron James.
The super-team Warriors are his toughest task yet, and there is too much talent on Golden State to pick out any one player (Although KD has definitely upped his game). Still, regardless of the team, a loss will be looked back as a failure in LeBron’s career as people relentlessly compare his ring totals to Michael Jordan’s.
That hardly feels fair when you see stats like this one.
For all the talk of LeBron’s fatigue at the end of games (Which may have some legitimacy), there was a clear problem in last night’s effort and that was the two minutes and 23 seconds that James wasn’t on the court. He was plus seven in the game, playing all but two minutes, and his team lost by five.
There was a 12 point swing in two minutes of his absence. Tired or not, it appears as if the Cavs only hope might be more LeBron.
