The Jason Garrett era in Dallas has mercifully come to an end. Jerry Jones finally mustered up the energy to cut ties with a coach that has brought Dallas nowhere further than disappointment. With the Cowboys’ core group not getting any younger, Jones decided it was time to move on.

And move on to Mike McCarthy was the decision. The longtime Green Bay Packers coach will now take over duties on the Dallas sideline as the ‘Boys try to better utilize Zeke Elliott, Dak Prescott, a terrific O-Line and stout defensive core.

One reported reason as to why the Cowboys wanted McCarthy stood out from the rest. According to Rob Demovsky, an ESPN reporter close to the Packers’ organization, they did so based off of the way McCarthy had coached against them.

This is a very interesting reason, and it almost seems like more of a shot at Jason Garrett than anything. The coach that you loyally stood by for so long often got outcoached by an opponent, and now you’re acknowledging it.

Thoughts? We’d love to hear them, let us know @BarDown!
