Before hockey franchises started moving into state of the art buildings, the path to the ice was a simple one for the players.
With the change in home rinks has come a change in the way players take the ice from their locker room and there’s some rather unusual ones. From walking through restaurants in the building to walking down a flight of stairs and through hallways designated for suites, we thought we’ve seen it all. However, it turns out we were wrong.
Team Canada took on Sweden at the Karjala Cup in Helsinki, Finland, on Friday night and they had to take a rather unusual path from their locker room to the ice surface.
This is definitely something new to us as we’ve never seen a team have to take an elevator from their locker room to the ice surface, but it’s something we could certainly get used to.
Unfortunately Canada came up short in their contest against Sweden as they were blanked 2-0.
