July 1st passed a long time ago, but there are still a number of impact free agents on the market and one of them got signed on Monday.
Greg Monroe is reportedly the newest member of the Toronto Raptors. The big man is only a couple of seasons removed from averaging over 15 points per game and will surely help Toronto on both ends of the floor.
He also provides the team with depth as they lost Jakob Poeltl in the trade for Kawhi Leonard, so all-in-all a good deal for the Raptors and one that makes so much sense when you discover what Monroe's nickname is.
The moose coming to Toronto is just perfect. Monroe was given the nickname when he was in high school and as per the Bucks' website, it was on a poster of him that brought him to the University of Georgetown. (H/T: Twitter)
