The Edmonton Oilers accomplished something on Saturday night that not many teams have done this season and that’s win a game in Las Vegas.
While many teams and players have left Nevada feeling unlucky this year, one person who probably feels pretty lucky today despite suffering an injury in his team’s 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday night is Milan Lucic. Shortly after the Oilers opened the scoring in the second period, Lucic suffered a freak injury that you most likely missed even if you were watching the game.
As Lucic picked up the puck in his own zone and gained momentum as he attempted to make his way through the neutral zone, the 29-year-old forward was bumped off the puck by William Carrier and his neck ended up connecting with Tomas Nosek’s skate on his way down to the ice.
Lucic has nine goals and 19 assists for 18 points in 46 games this year and isn’t expected to miss any time due to this injury.
