Mike Fisher announced that he is returning to the NHL and re-joining the Nashville Predators.
At the moment, both the team and Fisher have acknowledged that Fisher will be returning, but they reportedly haven’t signed a contract yet. Preds’ GM David Poile expressed that they will make sure to get a deal done before the trade deadline – until then, Fisher will be working with the team to get in game shape.
So, without an NHL contract, it seems as if he was feeling a little free from getting fined by the NHL because he threw out some harsh criticism on Super Bowl Sunday.
It’s definitely not a squeaky clean hit, but we’re assuming the reason for Fisher’s blunt reaction to ruling is the same as everyone else’s reasons for hating most of the NHL decisions made this season: The inconsistency.
Just look at the replies and you’ll see loads of people complaining about other calls that didn’t receive anywhere near this punishment.
