Itโ€™s official, folks.

Robbie Ray is the 2021 American League Cy Young Award Winner!

And it is so well deserved.

The Blue Jays star pitcher won almost unanimously, capturing 29 first-place votes, with Yankeesโ€™ Gerrit Cole getting one first-place vote and Lance Lynn of the Chicago White Sox trailing behind in third.

Ray becomes the first pitcher in Blue Jays history to win the award since Roy Halladay and just the fourth in club history.

Going 13-7 this season and posting an ERA of 2.84 and 1.045 WHIP, Ray led the league with 284 strikeouts in 193.1 innings pitched within 32 starts.

The moment he found out he had won the award was incredibly special, as he was surrounded by his wife, Taylor, and their children, Leighton and Asher.

And Asher definitely made for a pretty adorable winning speech.

And of course, the reaction to Rayโ€™s incredible win was celebrated by many members and fans of the baseball community!
