Matt Duchene’s time with the Ottawa Senators came to an end on Friday afternoon as he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets and his new team didn’t waste any time getting him into the lineup.

Since the Blue Jackets just so happened to be in Ottawa for a Friday night tilt with the Senators, Duchene didn’t have to travel very far to join his new team and he was inserted into the lineup.

Duchene had a No. 95 jersey made up for him shortly after the deal and a few hours later he was on the ice with his new club.

A lot of people thought the Blue Jackets were out of the picture and were going to be sellers, but they shocked everyone by acquiring Duchene a few days before the deadline. Now we’ll just have to wait and see what kind of impact he can make with his new team.
