The Boston Bruins’ top line is one of the best lines in hockey because they know how to get the job done on both ends of the ice. Even when they’re not playing together as a full line they know how to produce on the scoresheet, especially when they’re down a man.

Through 42 games, Brad Marchand sits tied for 4th in the NHL in points with 55 and has a league-leading six shorthanded points. Sitting right behind and him tied for second in shorthanded points is Patrice Bergeron, who has four on the season.

Together they’ve combined for six shorthanded goals this season, which is more than every other team in the league has as a whole except for the Montreal Canadiens (8) and New York Rangers (7).

As some fan bases know more than others, shorthanded goals are not easy to come by, especially in a shortened season. But the Bruins duo have combined for more shorthanded goals than five NHL franchises have scored as a whole since the 2017-18 season.

Marchand scored shorthanded goals in back-to-back games this season and he moved up to 22nd all-time list for shorthanded goals scored during a career.

Of all their shorthanded goals during their career, 29 of them have come during the regular season, which is the third-most by a duo in NHL history.

They can very well move into second spot by the end of the regular season and at this rate they’ll only need a couple more seasons together to set the all-time record.
