Evgeni Malkin had a pretty rough start to the year, but lately he’s slipped back into regular form with a 6-game point streak. While the slump was mildly concerning, nobody was counting out Geno for a resurgence.
Part of that resurgence can be attributed to the hot streak of Kasperi Kapenen. The Finnish forward has 9 points in his last 8 games, including a nice assist to Malkin on Thursday night. Following the game, Malkin was asked about his relationship with Kap. The Russian had a pretty comical answer.
It was all said in jest, of course, and the two seem to be developing enough chemistry on the ice it’s hard to believe it wouldn’t transfer off the ice as well.
Either way, it’s just nice to see Geno joking around once again.
