Nathan MacKinnon and Sidney Crosby have developed one of the most beloved bromances in the NHL through their time in the league and they haven’t even played on the same team… yet.
Well, they did play together at the 2015 IIHF World Hockey Championships, but they have yet to play together in any kind of best-on-best tournament or season. And even then, MacKinnon was not the same player in 2015 as what he has become in today’s NHL where every year he is up for the discussion of best player in the league.
Now, what has us thinking about this?
Well, MacKinnon and Crosby are back for their yearly Tim Hortons commercial. It has become a bit of tradition in Canada as we get to see the two Eastern Canadian fellas get together and have some fun in in the drive thru, on a zamboni or, this year, sitting on a bench in their Canada jerseys.
We’re very curious to see what they have up their sleeves this time, because it’s always a treat to see them having some fun together. The next up in their summer routine is usually to get a couple training clips with them and Brad Marchand out in Nova Scotia, who could be another member of Team Canada if NHL players go the Olympics.
Honestly, we think these three playing together so much, that Corwin and DZ even tried to make it happen in NHL 21 on TradeCentre this year.
Gary, please send them to the Olympics this year.
