When hockey fans think of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ core they think of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang.

After all, Malkin was taken in the 2004 draft and Crosby and Letang were both taken in the 2005 draft, so they’ve spent their entire careers together and have gone through everything together.

But next summer might be a weird one for the Penguins as Malkin and Letang are two of the unrestricted free agents they’re going to need to take care of. Following the team’s locker cleanout on Friday, Letang spoke to the media and mentioned that the three veterans would love to finish their careers together in Pittsburgh.

It’s pretty hard to picture any of those three players in any jersey other than a Penguins jersey, but there’s a possibility we might see Malkin and/or Letang in different jerseys in a couple of seasons or next year. And it’s not just fans who hope they all stay together, it’s the players, too.

Do you think Crosby, Malkin and Letang will all finish their careers together in Pittsburgh?
