LeBron James sent a powerful message with the black and white 'Equality' shoes he wore in Washington

Athletes have many outlets to express their thoughts and feelings on issues and topics outside of the sports world.

Twitter, for example, is something many athletes have used to talk about the important issues like equality.  Another way athletes have been able to send a powerful message is through what they wear on their feet.

Back in October, LeBron James used his shoes to spread the message of equality when he debuted the black colourway of his Nike LeBron 15 "Equality" PE sneakers.

Sunday night in Washington, LeBron's shoes echoed that same powerful message, but this time he wore one black and one white shoe.

After the game, James spoke about his decision to wear the shoes:

If the Cavaliers don't face the Wizards in the playoffs, the game Sunday was the last in Washington for Cleveland this season and LeBron made sure he left a powerful message if that's the case.
